PLAY IN THE BROWSER (nothing to install)

- Click "Run game" above. The first start takes a few seconds while the game loads.

- Works in Chrome, Edge and Firefox on a computer. You need a keyboard, so phones and tablets are not supported.

- Click into the game once so it gets your keyboard.

- Your farms are saved in this browser on this computer. If you clear your browser data, they are gone.

WINDOWS DOWNLOAD

1. Download ByteHarvest-Windows.zip.

2. Right-click the zip and choose "Extract All...". Do not start the game from inside the zip.

3. Open the extracted folder and double-click ByteHarvest.exe.

4. If Windows shows "Windows protected your PC", click "More info" and then "Run anyway".

This appears because the game is new and not signed. It is safe.

Needs Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit). Any graphics card from the last 10 years will do.

Your saves are kept here, so updating the game does not delete them:

%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Byte Harvest\Byte Harvest\Saves

To update: download the new zip, extract it, and delete the old folder.

To uninstall: delete the game folder.

FIRST STEPS

- New Game: pick Python, JavaScript or C#, then press Start farming.

- Type your program in the code window and press Run (the green button), or press F5.

- New to coding? Open "Learn to Program" in the main menu for lessons, quizzes and practice.

- Stuck? The book button opens the Lessons Book with every command explained.
